Kristen Erath 10-12-09 Professor Tim Palmer Midterm Essay # 1 According to historians and around all told historical documents the colonists won the war for independence, but the distinction comes when you fight whether the British lost the war or the colonists won it. During this war, the colonists prove to the rest of the macrocosm that they were becoming an upcoming world power. The patriots who fought in the war were willing to die for their country and occasion independent. Although, the British won many battles, they obtained little from their victories. Therefore, the colonist had to a greater extent to gain from the war than the British had to lose, creating more of an incentive to withdraw through. The Americans didn’t win all the battles, but showed true mastery in the cardinal’s that they did. The Battle at jam hammock, the Battle of capital of New Jersey and the Battle at Saratoga are all satisfying for the patriots. The outcome of the war for independence is that the Americans won. The Battle of Bunker agglomerate turn up to be the first major “victory” for the Americans, point though it resulted in the British capturing the battle field.
